10-11:30 Huerta Culture (South Austin cumbia fusion)
12-close Sahara's Saturday Night House Band

*Sitar Ji is a world / electronica fusion project headed by sitar player extraordinaire, Indrajit Banerjee. The music is ethereal and cerebral and at the same time highly energetic and very much for dancing. Close your eyes, open your heart, let your spirit soar on the dance floor. Check out https://soundcloud.com/indrajit-banerjee-2/my-song-2-2 and http://youtu.be/jeboEKF3Zok

*Huerta Culture plays dance music for parties. The band mixes cumbia, ska, reggae, hip-hop, blues, rock, and balkan influences to create a sound that has been dubbed 'psichocumbia'. With 4 singers in the band sometimes all switching verses throughout a song and singing in English, Spanish, and Quechua (an indigenous language of Bolivia), Huerta Culture keeps arrangements dynamic and eclectic. The phat bass and rhythmic keys are accompanied by a wizard trumpet. Some songs also feature the guacharaca and the Andean pan pipes. In 2014 Huerta Culture released the full length album HOMEGROWN. Check it out at http://www.cdbaby.com/m/cd/huertaculture
Huerta Culture is also happy to have been included on this compilation album recently distributed at the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC) in New York. https://www.facebook.com/huertaculture/posts/895360563836123

*Sahara's Saturday Night House Band plays a blend of traditional West African Music, Afrobeat, Afropop, and Reggae. Traditional instruments such as the djembe, the balafon, and the kora are featured together with the modern drum set, the electric bass, the sax and the trumpet. (Ibrahim will be out of the country).
