This year, the Chinese New Year falls on 16 Feb (yeah… two days after your Valentine’s date night).

For such an auspicious occasion, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is teaming up with Thai-Chinese community to turn Yaowarat into a celebration ground. The evening will kick off at 17:00 with performances imported from various Chinese provinces. Expect to witness over-the-top lion dances, Fujianese opera puppets, Hainanese folk dance, Shandong acrobatic show, and Hunanese martial art, and feast on some of Yaowarat’s best-selling bites from pop-ups. TAT will also fly in 18 chefs from China to prepare numerous auspicious Chinese dishes on site to offer for free.
