Grec 2019: Kronos Quartet / ESMUC / Alba G. Corral

For the first time in 12 years, the opening show at the Grec Festival is not theatre, dance or circus acts, but a concert of live music. And it's coming to you from the celebrated Kronos Quartet (10pm) from San Francisco, who've been performing for more than 45 years. They're set to play music by Philip Glass, by electronic musician Jlin and arrangements by Gershwin, all accompanied by generative graphics from the prodigious Alba G. Corral. Plus, you get a bonus because before the Kronos Quartet get going, young musicians from the ESMUC music school, coordinated by David Albet, play pieces from 'Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire' in the Jardins del Grec gardens (7.30pm).
