The singer, trumpeter and saxophonist Andrea Motis, a jazz revelation in recent years who came out of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, has developed this show especially for the San Miguel Mas i Mas Festival and for the one and only Grec Theatre. Divided into three parts, the show invites audiences to take part in a very special summer night when music and dance take centre stage. The first part features Motis's regular quintet and offers a selection of the jazz compositions on the new album she's recorded for American label Impulse!: 'Emotional Dance'. In the second part, with a smaller line-up, the repertoire is based on a choice of songs complemented with contemporary dance from Martina and Júlia Miró, choreographed by their father, Mallorcan dancer Carles Miró. Finally, in the third part, rhythm takes over the musical programme based on a selection of funk and soul tunes with from different periods and registers, such as Amy Winehouse, Bill Withers, Ray Charles and The Jackson 5, with the participation of the Tribu Urbana de Badalona.
