Zoo Palast

Ufa Palast Am Zoo did not survive the bombing but its replacement, the Zoo Palast, was built to continue the tradition. Opened as a duplex theatre in 1957, it immediately became the main venue for the Berlinale. Its main auditorium seats 1,070 and is still the largest in Berlin, the great oval ceiling sprinkled with tiny lights like a starry sky.
