The Jewellery Quarter

Pack in a full day – and night – of fun in this increasingly popular part of town, where you’ll find everything from exhibitions to nightclubs

The Jewellery Quarter’s march toward greatness shows no signs of slowing down, and it’s well worth an afternoon sojourn or an evening spent experiencing its increasingly popular hospitality.

By day, arrive at pretty St Paul’s Square and take in the latest exhibition at the RBSA. Hit archway must-try Peel & Stone by way of refuel, then pick between a guided tour of the Museum of Jewellery or the creation of your own nib at the Pen Museum for your afternoon’s entertainment. Dodge happy couples looking for engagement rings in Warstone Lane and recharge at the RVT.

If you’re making a night of it, check in to BLOC, which is but a moment’s purposeful stroll from live music at Jools Holland’s ever-popular JQ nightclub. There are two key words to remember when it come to a night at the Jam House – book ahead. If you don’t, entry can be the longest wait in the city, particularly as the festive months approach.

If you had something even later and livelier in mind, Brum’s up-for-it generation descend upon the Actress & Bishop from about 1am, with no intention of making it a quiet one.
