Buchanan Support Keith Urban And Carrie Underwood says
Multi-Grammy and ARIA Award winning artist Keith Urban will be back home in December on the “ripCORD World Tour Australia 2016”, with 7-time Grammy-award winning, multi-platinum superstar Carrie Underwood, following the release of his #1 album RIPCORD.
Australian four-piece alt-indie band Buchanan has been hand picked by Keith to open up on the “ripCORD World Tour Australia 2016”. Buchanan, led by enigmatic front man Josh Simons, recently released their new album “Pressure in an Empty Space”. Recorded in the UK with renowned producer Simon Duffy (Leftfield, Mr Hudson, Dirty Vegas and Missy Elliot), the album has taken the band’s sound in a new direction, adding an unmistakable electronic and European flavour. The band last visited Australian shores in February 2016, headlining shows up and down Australia’s East Coast in a sold out tour. Buchanan has had over 1 million streams on Spotify, half a million plays on YouTube, and over 200,000 listens on SoundCloud.

Keith, whose concerts are always a non-stop, electrifying roller-coaster ride featuring world class production and a set-list jammed with all of his biggest hits, is known as one of the industry’s best live performers. In fact, it was following Keith’s 2014 tour, when he picked up the ARIA Award for Best Live Act.
The “ripCORD World Tour 2016” is now underway in the U.S., with Keith showcasing songs from RIPCORD, including the Australian hit single “The Fighter” with Carrie Underwood, his U.S. No. 1 hits “Break On Me”, “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16” and “Wasted Time”, and an extensive repertoire of hits such as “Days Go By”, “Somebody Like You”, “Long Hot Summer” and “Cop Car”.
In Australia, the Top 5 iTunes song “The Fighter” has broken all previous airplay records by Urban and has been added into Top 40 radio playlists right around Australia.
Keith’s eighth studio album RIPCORD simultaneously debuted at #1 in Australia, the U.S. and Canada, and is the result of collaborations with an eclectic group of Award-winning writers and co-producers. They include Jeff Bhasker, busbee, Greg Wells and Nile Rodgers, as well as long-time collaborators Shane McAnally, Ross Cooperman, Dann Huff and Nathan Chapman, all of whom worked with Urban on his previous No. 1 album FUSE.
Joining Keith on the “ripCORD World Tour Australia 2016” will be Pollstar’s three-time top female country touring artist, Carrie Underwood. She just wrapped the spring leg of the biggest tour of her career, The Storyteller Tour – Stories in the Round. The arena tour rolled in to 47 cities and seven different countries, playing to nearly 600,000 people since the tour launched in January. This tour will be Carrie’s third trip to Australia, having been here before for extensive album promotion in 2011 and again in 2012 when she also took her “Blown Away” Tour to Melbourne, Tamworth, Brisbane, and Sydney - wrapping with 2 sold-out nights at the iconic Sydney Opera House.
