Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art says
Dust off your Stetson hat and strap on your spurs, ‘The Western’ has come to town!

Saddling up this Friday and galloping through to 15 November 2015, ‘The Western’ celebrates one of the most popular and enduring genres of cinema from its early roots in silent cinema to present day.

The program showcases enduring classics (The Searchers 1956, High Noon 1952) and popular titles (The Magnificent Seven 1960, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 1966) alongside a selection of international Westerns (The Seven Samurai 1954, Yojimbo 1961, Aferim! 2015) by celebrated directors such as John Ford, Sergio Leone, Akira Kurosawa, Clint Eastwood and Quentin Tarantino.

Don’t miss the rare 35mm archival screenings in one of Australia’s last 35mm film venues!
