The Triffid says
Following the news of their sold-out A Day On The Green performance in Sirromet this coming March, Feel Presents are excited to announce a one-off Brisbane headline show for Violent Femmes.

The Millwaulkee-via-Hobart natives will bring their timeless blend of folk, free-jazz and punk attitude to The Triffid in Newstead Brisbane on Monday 7th March. Tickets for this one-off show are on-sale Friday January 15th.

"Across roughly two hours, fans new and old got to hear more or less every song they could have wanted to hear from the band, from deeper cuts like ‘Jesus Walking On The Water’ and ‘Life Is An Adventure’ to big sing-alongs ‘I Held Her in My Arms’ and closing number ‘American Music’. Indeed, we like all kinds of music – but if we use the Femmes as indicative of their home nation’s overall sound, we like American music best, baby." - The Brag Sydney Opera House live review Dec 29, 2014.

The 2016 coincides with the release of a brand new album We Can Do Anything; their 9th album and their first album of all new material to be released in 15 years. Produced by Jeff Hamilton and mixed by John Agnello (Dinosaur Jr, Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth) the new album has Femmes frontman / songwriter Gordon Gano diving headlong into his own voluminous archives, listening to ancient cassette demos and leafing through old journals in search of suitable songs. Among his finds were such new classics as the murderous “Big Car” and the fractured fairy tale, “I Could Be Anything”.

"Coloured by explosive arrangements that veer on a dime from hard charging stomp to intimate melancholy, We Can Do Anything is Violent Femmes at their very finest – joyous, exciting, and eternal."

We Can Do Anything is released March 4th 2016.
Tickets for Brisbane's show at The Triffid are to go on-sale Friday January 15th.
