"MCA Screen: Jos de Gruyter ans Harald Thys"

Belgian longtime artistic duo Jos de Gruyter and Harald Thys debut their first gallery installation in America at MCA this fall. While the Brussel-based artists primarily focus on film, they’ve expanded their art to include photography and painting. Their new installation “Im Reich der Sonnenfinsternis” is equal parts film and paintings but all around aesthetically jarring and surreal. If it makes you feel alienated or uneasy, that’s the whole point as it aims, to erode the mythology of artisthood.
