Wild-and-crazy pregame partying days may be behind us now that the wee ones tag along to football games, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have some tailgating fun. Our whole gang heads to Wildcat Alley, just outside of Ryan Field, before Northwestern University Wildcats home games for three hours of free entertainment (you don’t even need a game ticket to enter!): meet-and-greets with NU athletes, face painting, games, marching-band performances, you name it. We liked it a little better when the festivities included gratis Goose Island beer for over-21s (that stopped last season). But springing to enter a new ticketholders’ “tailgate tent” for food anddrinks this season isn’t exactly torture.
