BEST PLACE TO MAKE YOUR KID FEEL LIKE A MAJOR LEAGUER Thillens Stadium
Little league baseball players all over the North Side look forward to the special “Thillens game” they get to play each season at this Northwest Side stadium founded by the family behind the armored-car and check-cashing business (it’s now run by the Chicago Park District). But this is no ordinary park district ball field: It boasts 2,400 seats, a concession stand, klieg lights, an announcer’s booth and real-deal dugouts. Some might argue that a $2 million revamp a few years back made it even a little spiffier than that other big-time baseball diamond over at Clark and Addison. 6404 N Kedzie Ave (312-742-4870).
