Bubbles Academy Little ones get a chance to run, jump, crawl, roll balls and mimic animals during Bubble Creative Movement, a weekly video- and toy-filled 45-minute class for walkers ages 12 to 24 months. Old Town School of Folk Music Jitterbugs classes give caregivers and little ones a chance to learn simple dances and movements to nursery rhymes and songs using props and instruments. Weekly 45-minute classes are available for children up to age 24 months. $130 for eight weeks. 4544 N Lincoln Ave (773-728-6000).

Hubbard Street Dance Center Children ages 18 months to three years can develop gross motor skills, along with balance and rhythm, at entry-level parent-and-tot Creative Movement classes at the award-winning dance center. The 45-minute classes meet weekly during 15-week sessions. $225, with a $25 sign-up fee. Lou Conte Dance Studio, 1147 W Jackson Blvd (312-850-9744).

Baby Take a Bow Itty Bitty Ballerinas teaches ballet fundamentals to students 18 months to 2½ years old with the help of props, costumes and music. Classes are 30 minutes and a caregiver must attend. $162–$180 for nine weeks. 2223 W Roscoe St (773-904-7377) and 805 Elm St, Winnetka (847-386-6227).

Lil’ Kickers The 50-minute Bunnies class for 18- to 24-month-olds and their parents teaches soccer basics through games such as “soccer dance” and building cone towers to kick (not push) down. Toddlers can start the year-round program at any time at locations around the city and suburbs; classes are $14 each with a $36 annual membership fee (which includes a uniform).
