You just had a baby, so getting to the gym may be a little tough. Plug this video game into your Wii or XBox 360 and start dancing your way back to the six-pack abs we all know you were rocking pre-pregnancy. Unless you’re already a Latin dance diva (or Zumba expert), learning some of the dance moves may take a few tries, but you’ll work your abs by laughing at yourself shaking like Shakira. I didn’t feel a huge kick in my abs after my first try. Then I watched the promotional video and realized the more uninhibited you are, the better the workout. Ass & Abs at On Your Mark Fitness
Feel the burn in the areas that need the most help post-baby at these 45-minute classes. You’ll work the glutes and core in a functional workout designed to build strength and prevent injury. Expect wall squats with weighted medicine balls, side-to-side “chops” across your body and plenty of planks. Children three months and older can go to on-site child care at the Bucktown location for select classes, giving you even less of an excuse to avoid going. Single class $25; packages available and the first week of classes is free. Active Moms’ Club’s “Fit & Fab” small-group postnatal training
AMC’s personal trainers have more than ten years of experience working with postnatal women to achieve their fitness goals. These private training sessions put an emphasis on a supportive environment for new and experienced moms. Participants can expect a mix of strength training (lunges, squats, pushups and planks mixed with cardio intervals) to sculpt muscles and improve body composition. $190 for five sessions or $350 for 10.
