This beautiful, ornate and capacious space opened as a ballroom in 1926 with interior decor inspired by a Spanish village. These days, it serves as one of the biggest music venues within the city limits (and the only one with swords mounted above its stage). The 4,500-capacity room hosts acts such as Queens of the Stone Age, Run the Jewels, and deadmau5. Fair warning: The noise bounces around that high, pretty, star-flecked ceiling until it's a fat wad of mud in your ears.

I've been to 2 shows in the past month at Aragon and it's an awesome venue. They have so much variety in artists who play. The only thing I do not like is that if the show is not sold out, not all of the bars are open which can cause a 30 minute wait for drinks. Also, security takes forever for girls. So definitely plan ahead if you have a purse or bag for them to check.

The Aragon is simply beautiful. Seeing a concert here is a touch surreal, as you're surrounded by elaborate balconies in a historic theater, but you might be seeing, say, an EDM band. The concert calendar is fairly varied, and the drinks tend to be pricy, but just being in such an epic space to enjoy live music and perhaps a Lagunitas is well worth any cost.
