The first concert is scheduled at Thalia Hall
The new Pilsen music venue from the owners of the Empty Bottle books Camera Obscura
Wed Mar 19 2014
Thalia Hall, the new music venue and bar from Empty Bottle owners Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden, seems to be finally set to open. The Pilsen space is part of the beautiful complex housing Dusek's and Punch House, which both opened in September 2013. Earlier this week, DNAinfo reported that the business was in the process of securing licensing, and that news would come "soon."
Well, it looks like the cat might have been let out of the bag. This morning, the charming British indie-pop act Camera Obscura announced July tour dates (see below). The band's official site does not list a show on July 25, but the press release from Camera Obscura's label, 4AD, shows a stop at—duh dum dum—Thalia Hall.
It's a good barometer of the type of acts we can expect to see in the rehabbed room—competition for Lincoln Hall. Check out the dates.
