Written in the months following her decision to get sober, the record's delicate folk rock arrangements are overseen by engaging narratives that confront specters of Crutchfield's past while turning a hopeful eye to a more fufilling future. It was a fitting record to listen to at a time when so many of us were forced to spend more time with our thoughts and engage in a bit of self-reflection—but the album's melodies and sentiment still hold up years removed from those solitary days.
