There are few things better than spending a beautiful summer day outside at a beer garden or rooftop restaurant, so why not share the fun with your furry best friend? Many of the city's best outdoor bars and outdoor restaurants welcome dogs on their patios, with some even making them feel extra welcome by providing water bowls or special menus with pup-approved meals. These are our favorite dog-friendly patios in Chicago to bring our pooches, where you're sure to meet plenty of canines chilling under tables and like-minded dog lovers.

Big Star's patio is great, but it's infinitely better when you bump into a cute furry friend. Bring your dog, eat some tacos and drink some margaritas till the sun goes down. Pups are also welcome at the brand new patio at Big Star Mariscos in West Town. Heads up that if you're going to the Wrigleyville location, you'll need to notify the restaurant you're bringing a dog when you make a reservation.
