1969 Jeans Shop

Advertising

MIND THE GAP If Gap’s giant 1969 JEANS signs outside its Michigan Avenue windows haven’t convinced you that the chain is serious about denim, its new boutique will (after all, Gap started out as a jeans store in San Francisco). Set to open in the Gold Coast on Tuesday 11, the new shop will obviously focus on the company’s 1969 premium jeans (starting at $60), but will also feature an edited selection of apparel and accessories from Gap’s current collection. The store is modeled after the 1969 pop-up shop that debuted in Los Angeles last fall (pictured here). It became so popular that it’s now a permanent fixture. The Chicago location is skipping the “pop-up” moniker altogether and plans to stick around indefinitely. 939 N Rush St (312-951-1745).
