A musical parody of the racy Fifty Shades of Grey books is heading to the Royal George Theatre. SPANK! The Fifty Shades Parody, sending up the best-selling trilogy's overwrought erotica, will play Chicago November 28–December 16.
The show, produced in part by the Just for Laughs Group that's planted its comedy-festival flag in Chicago for the past few years, is penned and directed by Toronto-based Jim Millan, known for crafting touring arena shows like Thomas, the Tank Engine and Mythbusters Live. SPANK!, which premiered in Springfield, Massachusetts, earlier this month, makes a three-week Chicago stop as part of its own tour (complete dates below). Tickets for the Chicago engagement ($42.50–$52.50) go on sale this Friday, October 26, at Ticketmaster and the Royal George box office.
