The Chicago Park District has set the summer lineup of shows for Theater on the Lake, which will be spread among three other park district facilities this year while the Theater on the Lake building is undergoing renovations. The season will comprise six pieces from off-Loop companies around the city (down a bit from the usual eight). They are:

Six Hours Short's NBA-inspired comedy The Lockout: A Musical, June 18–22 at Union Park

UrbanTheater Company's First Class, June 25–29 at Berger Park Cultural Center

Stage Left Theatre's A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, July 9–13 at Berger Park Cultural Center

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre's A Cole Porter Songbook, July 23–27 at Berger Park Cultural Center

The Neo-Futurists' Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind, July 30–August 3 at Washington Park Refectory

Strawdog Theatre Company's Great Expectations, August 6–10 at Berger Park Cultural Center

Due to the diffuse nature of this year's season, Theater on the Lake will not sell subscriptions or flex passes, instead reducing all single tickets to $10. Tickets go on sale Monday, May 19.
