The Taste of Chicago returns this year—but at a later date than usual. The annual food and music festival is now being held in September, partly due to the NASCAR Chicago Street Race, which took place downtown during first weekend of July. Just like last year, the Taste of Chicago was preceded by a series of day-long fests throughout the summer (at Humboldt Park, Pullman Park and Marquette Park) before heading to Grant Park for the three-day main event. Historically, a lineup of local restaurants and food vendors set up booths in Grant Park and offer a variety of dishes to purchase. The Taste of Chicago also usually books a robust lineup of concerts, with free entry to all shows in 2023.
Who is at the Taste of Chicago 2023?
This year's list of participating restaurants includes the Original Rainbow Cone, Yvolina’s Tamales, Tacotlan, Seoul Taco, Arun’s Thai Restaurant, Sapori Trattoria and Eli’s Cheesecake, plus food trucks like Soul & Smoke and Harold's Chicken.
The entertainment schedule will feature singer-songwriter Lupita Infante, mariachi group Mariachi Sirenas, Dominican-American hip hop group Proyecto Uno, Chicago-based band Whitney and the Masters of the Mic: Hip Hop 50 tour.
