With the 25th anniversary of Chernobyl and the ongoing nuclear power-plant crisis in Japan, all eyes are on the future of energy. Don’t let that future be decided by big power-company lobbyists: Educate yourself. A lecture series from physics center Fermilab includes today’s talk “The Large Hadron Collider” (Fermilab, Ramsey Auditorium, Pine St and Kirk Rd, Batavia; 630-840-2787; 8pm; $7).
