Your perfect weekend | World Naked Bike + Neon Marshmallow Fest + Chinatown Walking Tour
Six events for the weekend
Wed Jun 8 2011
Friday, Jun 10
It’s truly summer. Time for office workers to go wild and break out the colored ties and camis. Millennium Park gives folks in the Loop another way to revel in the warm weather: the Lunchbreak (205 E Randolph St, 312-742-1168; noon; free) music series. Every day at noon, live band performances, spinning DJs or open rehearsals take place in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. On Fridays, get the party started early with Chicago house music.
Stop reading this if your idea of a good concert is singing along to simple, nostalgia-laden pop tunes. Neon Marshmallow Fest (Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave; 7pm; $25) features überexperimental, eardrum-blowing noise. Over three days, electronic, free jazz and art school–esque acts—including tonight’s headliners, Lucky Dragons—will melt your face off. (Pop fans, that’s a good thing.)
