All to benefit CHRISSY KRAUSE (Smutak) fight rare cancer

This Sunday January 17th Cleveland’s favorite son, Michael Stanley will perform AN EVENING OF ACOUSTIC MUSIC in the intimate confines of the BEACHLAND BALLROOM. Opening act will be the Cleveland All-Stars, a who’s who of Cleveland rock musicians. (See link) Stanley, who has had tremendous success as a recording artist, concert attraction, TV personality, and radio DJ is giving back to the rock community from which he came.

CHRISSY KRAUSE (Smutak) was an early pioneer in the rock scene. She was a part of the rock family at the legendary Agora Ballroom starting in the 70’s. She began as the assistant to Buddy Maver, VP and Agora concert booker and quickly became the Promotion Director. She was one of the behind-the-scenes mainstays that kept that big rock and roll machine moving. “She always had that big smile and great energy even when grumpy rock stars were giving her a hard time”, said Maver. “She had a hand in everything that was going on”. She later spent years working at a number of Cleveland radio stations in promotion and marketing, and as an on-air personality. Now she’s getting “a little help from her friends”.

This benefit will raise money for Chrissy to seek alternative treatment outside of the country for Angiosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, as treatments are not yet available in the U.S. Advance tickets to this benefit concert event are $20.00 and are available at Ticket Web or by calling 216-383-1124. They’re also available at the door.
