Join us Weds. March 15th at 7p at Happy Dog at the Euclid Tavern for our March "Between the Lines" event! March's edition features celebrated local authors and educators Toni K. Thayer & Terry Dubow, who will explore the imaginative leaps involved in writing across genders lines. Both writers will read from new and previously published work before discussing the joys and challenges of creating characters whose identities differ from their own. Stick around to ask questions of the authors and mingle with fellow local writers.

About the authors:

Toni K. Thayer is a writer in many disciplines. Her plays include Golden, The Floating Dolls, Ten in One, and Angst:84. Her work for the stage has been commissioned by Cleveland’s Talespinner Children’s Theater, Great Lakes Theater, and Dobama Theatre’s Night Kitchen project. Toni's fiction and nonfiction has been published locally and nationally in venues such as Edible Cleveland, MUSE, Angle, Umbrella Factory, Northern Ohio Live, RH Reality Check, and on WCPN 90.3. She was a 2016 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award winner, and has also been recognized by The LIT, the Cleveland Press Club, the Ohio Society for Professional Journalists, and the Plain Dealer. Look for her tender new forays into poetry in small literary venues sometime in the indistinct but, one hopes, not-too-distant future. Toni holds an MA in English Literature from Cleveland State University and MFA in Creative Writing/Fiction from Goddard College, teaches English and creative writing at Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights, and enjoys life with her family in the creative mecca of Cleveland Heights.

Terry Dubow has been writing fiction for more than 20 years. He's been lucky enough to publish 20-plus stories, most recently in The Greensboro Review and Painted Bride Quarterly. He's working on his fourth novel with the hope that the fourth time is a charm. In 2013, Terry won the Seth Rosenberg Prize from The Community Partnership for Arts and Culture. He's had four Pushcart Prize nominations in total and one Special Mention by Wally Lamb(!). He's also won an Individual Artist Grant from the Ohio Arts Council. He lives in Cleveland Heights with his two wondrous daughters and one wondrous wife. He teaches at Hawken School.

This event is FREE and takes place Weds. March 15th at 7p at Happy Dog at the Euclid Tavern.
