Bring your used instruments any time from June 4-June 11 to the Hungry for Music bus, which will be parked in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Hungry for Music, a 22-year-old organization will collect, repair, and distribute instruments to needy kids in Cleveland. The organization has distributed more than 8,000 instruments in 48 states and 15 countries.

The event will culminate with a concert that will feature six groups that have benefited from Hungry for Music instruments:

Internal Creations from the Bronx, N.Y., a classical guitar program dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing learning environment centered around music.

Intonation Music Workshop of Chicago, which helps children become rock stars on every stage of life through innovative music education and mentorship for kids 6-17 in some of the city’s toughest neighborhoods.

JAM – or Junior Appalachian Musicians – will bring the music of the Piedmont region in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee to Cleveland. JAM operates after-school programs and more that keep alive the fiddle, banjo and guitar traditions of the area.

The Louisville Leopard Percussionists will bring a performing ensemble comprised of 60+ student musicians ages 7-14, who reside in 26 different zip codes and attend 48 different schools in and around Louisville, Kentucky.

River City Drum Corps, will show off its knowledge of African materials and drumming techniques, all performed with military precision.

Rock to the Future, a Philadelphia group that provides music education for underprivileged youth, will perform.

The Hungry for Music bus will arrive in early June after visits to New Orleans, Little Rock, Ark., Memphis, Nashville, the D.C. area and New York to build teams of volunteers to collect, repair and distribute musical instruments.
