Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland MOCA says
The Spring 2016 Nesnadny + Schwartz Visiting Curator is Cornelia Lauf, curator of MOCA’s upcoming Fall 2016 exhibition, Wall to Wall: Carpets by Artists. For her talk, Lauf will detail her curatorial approach to organizing this exhibition. Wall to Wall features work from a wide cross-section of contemporary artists, and their weaving partners, who engage this medium—once considered a “minor art”—as a compelling focus for artistic inquiry.

Cornelia Lauf (1961, Freiburg, Germany) is an art historian and independent curator. She holds a doctorate in art history from Columbia University and an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College. Her areas of specialization include artist's books, applied arts/design by artists, and certificates of authenticity and other forms of artistic self-documentation. Lauf lives and works in Rome and Catania, Italy, and the United States.

During her visit to Cleveland, Lauf will conduct four studio visits with local artists. For more information on eligibility and applying for a visit (deadline to apply is 3/21/2016), please visit the program page: http://www.mocacleveland.org/programs/nesnadny-schwartz-visiting-curator
