OKO: Exquisite Growth

One of Zagreb’s most prolific street artists, OKO is celebrated for her phantasmagorical murals: intricate illustrations on an industrial scale, a typical scene might depict woodland creatures with finery-clad human bodies - a sinister-looking fox in a top hat, or a bird adorned with an Elizabethan ruff. Whimsical and dark, these surreal scenes could as soon have been stolen from a child's nursery rhyme as an adult's nightmarish trip. Set in the majestic French Pavillion, this series of installations combine light sculpture, text and painting to convey the 'several lives of William Shakespeare'.
