Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit A Thon At The Meadows Museum says
In honor of Women's History Month and the Art+Feminism Wikipedia Project, please join the Meadows Museum and Cedars Union in bringing meaningful change to the knowledge available about notable female artists and art world figures, and encouraging greater female editorship on Wikipedia. The Wikimedia Foundation found that less than 10% of its contributors identify as female. In an effort to correct this gender bias while simultaneously making information on females in the art world more accessible, we invite students, faculty, and the public to participate in SMU’s first Edit-a-thon. An Edit-a-thon is a community organized event that aims to teach people how to edit, update, and add articles on Wikipedia. Anyone interested in learning more about how to edit Wikipedia, regardless of experience, gender, or background, is encouraged to attend. No experience is necessary! Wikipedia tutorials will be provided for beginners and art experts will be on hand to give research and citation advice. Event is come and go, and contributors should bring their laptops and chargers, if possible.
FREE; advance wikipedia account creation encouraged (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:CreateAccount )
