Flood In My Hood Fundraiser & Silent Auction says
We are pleased to host the Flood in My Hood Fundraiser & Silent Auction.

Meghan Kelley, the organizer, says:
We all remember the night of that bad storm, the one that woke us all up and we couldn't go back to sleep. Well that was the night that my East Dallas Hood flooded. I was lucky and had no damage to my house or cars. However, over 20 houses flooded.

Yes, we have flood insurance. What you might not realize is flood insurance has a deductible. Oh, and Flood Insurance doesn't pay for housing while you're homeless. It doesn't pay for storing any of your valuables that didn't get destroyed.

I continued to offer my help to my surrounding neighbors, but felt helpless. They never asked for anything from me, but I knew I needed to help.

One morning I ran into Matt Tobin, one of the owners of Goodfriend, at Cultivar Coffee and bounced an idea off of him.

And that's how Flood in my Hood Fundraiser and Silent Auction got started.

Come. Drink. Shop. Support East Dallas. Support Our Neighbors.

July 7 at Goodfriend, with tons of sponsors and supporters, we will raise money to help our Neighbors.

We'll have Live Music from The O's and My Lil' Psycho Pony.

Shop Haute Wheels will be there with the latest fashions for men and women.
We'll have a Silent Auction with great items to bid on.
