Shlomo Gronich is known as a multi-faceted artist - a composer of classical and folk music, a singer, an arranger and lyricist, as well as a composer of music for cinema, theater and dance. He studied at the College of Music Teachers in Tel Aviv and at the Manes College of Music in New York. Gronich recorded his first LP in 1971 and has since released another 15 records and CDs. His works are performed by the best artists and musical ensembles in Israel. He has been awarded three Israeli cinema Oscars for film soundtracks as well as the Bronze Lion Medal for music for commercials. In 1991 he received the Akum Prize for his contribution to musical life in Israel.
