Texas Gambling Addiction Training & Partners Meeting

In partnership with Affiliate chapters in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, the National Council on Problem Gambling will be offering a Texas Gambling Addiction Training and Stakeholders Meeting on Thursday, February 24 in Dallas. The goals are to increase the base of professionals for referral, and to strengthen and revitalize the Texas Council on Problem and Compulsive Gambling so that they can continue the work of training counselors and implementing programs in problem gambling awareness, education and prevention. The event will consist of two parts: • a stakeholders meeting to bring together problem gambling and addictions stakeholders in the state, so that they can build relationships and synergies • a six-hour training for counselors on treating people with gambling addiction or gambling problems This event is sponsored by: Chickasaw Nation, Choctaw Nation, and Texas Lottery
