The First Ever Empire Poetry Slam

THE FIRST EVER EMPIRE POETRY SLAM. This Is An Amatuer Spokenword Competition for poets who've never won a slam. (Local or National ) Saturday March 7th 7:30pm-9:30PM $10 Cover. Great Drink And Dinner Specials 3662 Camp Wisdom Rd Dallas 31 Bar & Grill aka BGs of Dallas Hosted and Coordinated By Mike Guinn Ent RULES FOR THE EMPIRE SLAM Even number of Performers-Poets All Competitors will begin by battling in High Energy Lip Sync Battle to advance to the next round. Lip Sync Battle Rules – Choose your own song – 60-90 secs of your favorite song. Every performer will receive a 10 which they can substitute for one of their scores. Poets will then compete in a slam. They will pull numbers and the order will be 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6 7 vs 8 etc. Each competitor will also receive $25 for competing in the Lip Sync Battle. During Head To Head Poetry Slam, as poets come up to compete, they will lay their money on the table and winner will pick up the money. This will happen for each round. Reverse order each round. Scoring Is Cumulative all the way. The Empire Slam Is designed so that our audience can see more than just the slam poet but also the personality of the person behind the poetry.
