The celebrated Canadian humanitarian, author and retired senator will come to Dallas as the final speaker in the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance’s 2015 Upstander Speakers Series. Dallaire will speak on the topic of his latest book which is child soldiers. He has used his personal experiences with depression to advocate for greater mental health support for veterans. He also promotes human rights and genocide prevention and is the author of two best-selling books, Shake Hands with the Devil and They Fight Like Soldiers, They Die Like Children. His non-profit organization, The Romeo Dallaire Child Soldiers Initiative, is dedicated to preventing the recruitment of child soldiers.
