The event creator says
Solo Exhibition of New Work
Preview Friday April 3, 6-9pm. Artist Talk: 7-8pm.
For her third solo exhibition with Alan Simmons Art+Design, Yelizaveta Nersesova begins to define the relationship between the psychological experience of physical contact and the consequent translation of that experience into moving image and two-dimensional forms. The current body of work developed through a series of physical contact events that were digitally recorded and photographed. The digital record and physical memory of the experience were then used to drive the two-dimensional work. The resulting project consists of a video projection and paintings that serve as a record of and response to the physical encounters. The viewer is invited to reflect on the relationship between the moving images in the video and the composite images in the paintings, observing her/his own processes of making meaning.
The current exhibition is part of a larger long-term multi-media project which Nersesova will be pursuing in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the La Paternal Espacio Proyecto Residency in 2015-2016.
