The moneyed but staid Cherry Creek neighborhood finally got the jolt of cool it needed with the 2016 opening of this 154-room tower managed by Sage Hospitality. While exuding minimalist chic from top to bottom—think sleek furnishings and silver gray-on-white tones—the Halcyon boasts amenities to the max for 21st-century movers and shakers. It’s home to two of Denver’s hottest restaurants: steakhouse Quality Italian and Departure, featuring modern Asian fare from celeb chef Gregory Gourdet. Its lobby-level “gear garage” stores longboards, mountain bikes and other outdoors equipment for loan. The rooftop deck has it all: a pool, cabanas, panoramic views and Departure’s cocktail lounge. And speaking of bars, the Halcyon also has a secret you’ll have to see to believe.

The capital city of Colorado has a unique vibe that attracts people from across the globe and has a thriving arts and culture scene – world-class museums, impressive public art, and bright murals and street art, just to name a few. The famous Rocky Mountains can be seen from almost every part of the city and there’s plenty to do and explore in Denver including over 150 beer breweries – not bad considering the first building in the city was a saloon. Denver’s rapidly changing RiNo neighborhood is the beating heart of the mile-high city’s creative spirit. The Ramble Hotel, the industrial area’s first hotel, is both the perfect homebase to explore this vibrant part of the city as well as an excellent distillation of its unique personality. (Speaking of distillation, it’s also notable for being the first outpost of the world-famous NYC bar Death & Co—so you won’t have to travel far for an excellent drink.) It’s a place that authentically incorporates its surroundings to provide a new and exciting take on the Colorado capital. The 50-room boutique hotel, which opened in May 2018, takes its “rambling” inspiration seriously with luxe interior design by LA-based firm Avenue ID. The aesthetic—featuring industrial elements combined with soft, tactile fabrics and “found” elements—invites guests to savor eclectic details of the property while walking through hallways and guestrooms. The art program in the hotel was curated by the Denver-based group NINE dot ARTS and features a majority of work by local artists, a good portion of which have studios in the neighborhood. You’ll see everything from animal paintings to striking portraits, in a wide-range of mediums. Alongside captivating art and large industrial windows, antique Persian rugs and hickory flooring can be found in every room. Custom furniture from Denver-based designers exist alongside curated bars from Death & Co, custom throws from Paris-based Khadi & Co. and even some ve

Halcyon has no local equal when it comes to sexy alfresco scenes—with one exception: the Four Seasons, set in a 45-story tower downtown. Its foliage-fringed rooftop pool is a favorite seasonal escape for high rollers, staffed by a private bartender and chef (and providing the backdrop for some epic cocktail soirées with DJs). But you can also follow the insiders indoors to contemporary steakhouse EDGE Restaurant & Bar, a longtime happy-hour hot spot. When you’re ready to recoup, you can hit the spa for an acupuncture session and a balancing-gemstone massage—or head to lodgings that may feature a wet bar or a windowside soaking tub, a fireplace or a sauna (or all four if you book the Presidential Suite). And if money’s no object, the staff can arrange private helicopter trips or after-hours tours of the Molly Brown House—they’ve even been known engineer elaborate surprises for VIPs, like a recent speakeasy pop-up.

Brought to you by Marriott, the MOXY brand is hip, relaxed and all about the small touches that can make a hotel stay memorable. The lobby lounge of this well-located Cherry Creek spot is impeccably designed, with comfy seating areas, a market and novelty vending machine, and games (both board and bigger, like foosball); when the weather is nice, the entire room opens up onto the fire-pit dotted patio. You'll receive a boozy welcome drink upon arrival, and it might be an hour or two before you even make it to your room (pause for a photo opp on the ski lift chair by the elevators). Rooms are modestly sized, but well appointed with large windows, comfy beds and modern amenities (including cute folding chairs and totes you can use during your stay and even purchase upon departure). You may enter your room to find it "hooked up"; Moxy Hookups are creative, thoughtful extras doled out to guests at random, from a string of twinkling lights strung around the room to a Denver teddy bear waiting on your bed. In terms of extras, Moxy sets itself apart with a gym you'll actually want to work out in, with lots of natural light and a chalk wall full of inspirational shouts. The front desk doubles as a bar, so socializing is basically built into your experience. And you won't just be chatting with other travelers—the Moxy is such a gem that even locals hang out.
