History Colorado says
History Buffs and Brews is a new, weekly summer Happy Hour at the Rendezvous Cafe inside the History Colorado Center. In partnership with Great Divide Brewing Co., the cafe will be offering $3 draft and bottle beer specials along with customized happy hour appetizers.

Tonight History Colorado features Collections After Dark. Curatorial staff are bringing out objects from the Deer Trail Terror and Other Campfire Tales. Mayhem reigned for six months during the year of 1887, on the eastern plains of Colorado when horse thief and cattle rustler Newt Vorce terrorized the communities of Deer Trail, Byers, and Agate. This story has all of the ingredients of a classic Hollywood western: a jail break, posses, gunfights, dynamite, a pretty girl, and a sensational courtroom drama. Join us to hear the story of Newt Vorce, and to see artifacts related to him and other cowboys.
