Join us for Inside the Writer's Studio, the popular and unpredictable on-stage interview with Writer's Studio guests Heidi Julavits and Ben Marcus. In this unprecedented schema, Julavits and Marcus will interview each other in what’s sure to be an enlightening, good-humored, and provocative discussion. Julavits and Marcus will also read from their latest critically acclaimed books, THE FOLDED CLOCK and LEAVING THE SEA.

Doors open at 6:00 PM at the Denver Art Museum’s Lewis Sharp Auditorium. Reading and interviews with Julavits and Marcus begin at 6:30 PM. Q&A and book signing to follow.

Heidi Julavits is a founding editor of The Believer magazine, the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and winner of the PEN New England Award for Literary Excellence in Fiction. She’s also the author of a memoir, The Folded Clock (Doubleday 2015); four novels, The Vanishers, The Uses of Enchantment, The Effect of Living Backwards, and The Mineral Palace; and co-editor, with Sheila Heti and Leanne Shapton, of the New York Times bestseller Women in Clothes. Her fiction has appeared in Harper's Magazine, McSweeney’s, and The Best American Short Stories, among other places.

Ben Marcus is the author of The Flame Alphabet, Notable American Women, The Father Costume, and The Age of Wire and String. His most recent collection of short stories, Leaving the Sea, was published by Knopf in January 2014. His short stories have appeared in Harper's, The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Electric Literature, Granta, The Believer, McSweeney's, Conjunctions, and Tin House. He is the editor of The Anchor Book of New American Short Stories and New American Stories published by Vintage Books in July 2015. Among his awards are a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in fiction, three Pushcart Prizes, the Berlin Prize, and awards from Creative Capital and The American Academy of Arts and Letters.
