Bella Diva Dance is proud to present Alvaro Reys, of the most important dance educators from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil who will be in Colorado sharing his talent in a few workshops and shows. He will be accompanied by a Bella Diva favorite, Luciana da Silva.

Come to join Alvaro Reys & Luciana da Silva for a one-time 2.5 hour workshop in Samba no Pé and male Malandro style, in an intimate, low student to teacher ratio at Bella Diva Dance. Space is limited to 20 participants.

Malandro- Learn Alvaro's signature Malandro (Male style) samba, characterized by the smooth and swaggering footwork accompanied by the suit jacket and fedora.

Master dancer and choreographer Alvaro was born March 25, 1969. Discovering breakdancing in 1987, Alvaro found his career and his passion. Since being invited to his first competition and winning first place, he hasn't stopped dancing. He began studying Brazilian ballroom dance in 1989, and soon open the studio that's into thousand five would become the Academia Alvaro Reys in the neighborhood of Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. The Academy continues to offer private lessons, and has for nine years provided lessons for groups with world-class instruction based on his dynamic and clear technique. The system provides students and exceptionally fast and easy way to learn Samba.

Alvaro graduated from Rio's famous University of Samba in dancing choreography in 2008, and going on to obtain a masters degree in Theory and Movement, Alvaro is a long time producer and director of large club floor-shows, as well as a choreographer for television the theater. Always sharing his gifts, he has talked extensively at California Brazil camp in United States as well as private dance studios. Alvaro has refined his technique of teaching after he was assigned from college to teach dance to a group of people who are blind in Rio de Janeiro. That's experience gave Alvaro a deeper understanding of how to teach different groups of people, working with in their capacities as well as limitations.
