PlatteForum’s ArtLab Summer 2016 program culminates in a brand new exhibition, P.O.V.: A Zeenie Weenie Production. ArtLab Interns have been working with two Denver artists, Taylor Balkissoon and John Lake, in a summer-long intensive program exploring the theme of Counter/Current. This in-depth exploration of social issues present in today’s conversations embraced the tools used by sub/counter culture groups from the 1960s to present day and has resulted in an exhibition filled with zine work as well as 2D and 3D multi-media pieces incorporating large-scale printer photography.

P.O.V. (Points of View) empowers the teen voice, engages in difficult conversations and promotes growth through self and social reflection to inspire positive change. The pieces in the exhibition range in theme from gentrification, homelessness, mental health and politics to peer pressure, social norms and gender.

Thursday, August 4th, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
