Denver Museum of Nature & Science says
The mummies of Egypt often take the spotlight, but Peruvian cultures were practicing mummification 2,000 years before the Egyptians. Michele Koons, Museum curator of archaeology, will discuss her fieldwork in Peru, including her research on the elaborate burial of the Lady of Cao at the Moche site of El Brujo. Tour the temporary exhibition Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs, and join Rich Busch, education collections manager, as he shares rarely seen Peruvian artifacts from the Museum collections.
