Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History says
Detroit's large and culturally proud Afro Latino and Caribbean community has had a significant impact on our city's cultural, political, historical, and arts festival scene for almost a century. Join The Wright Museum for a free screening of the documentary "Black in Latin America," produced by Henry Louis Gates, followed by a forum to discuss the Afro Latino/Caribbean communities and issues in Detroit. This event will be the first of many that will lead into both the Concert of Colors Festival July 9 - 12 and the African World Festival August 14 - 16, 2015. The momentum built from these events will culminate in the first-ever Afro Latino & Caribbean Conference & Concert in 2016.

Free and open to the public. For more information please call (313) 494-5800.
