John E. Collins has been a staple in the Detroit Underground/House/Electronic scene for many years. He was exposed to all genres of music at very young age. There was always music playing at home and several of his relatives are musicians. While attending Wilberforce University, John played his first party for his fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha when the hired entertainment cancelled. It was the first time he played with two turntables and was hooked from the beginning

Upon returning to Detroit, John began spinning at parties here and there and his name began gaining recognition around Detroit. He was totally inspired by the sounds coming out of New York and Chicago House Music.

In 1986, John was hired to DJ at probably the hottest club in Detroit at that time - CHEEKS. A year later he would be joined at Cheeks with the now legendary Jeff Mills. John's career as a DJ has spanned twenty years, and he has never been without a club residency. He has DJ'd at The Lady, The Lansdowne, Joey's on Jefferson, The Warehouse, Times Square, The Parabox and currently the Palladium. In addition he has made guest appearances in practically every club in the city of Detroit. He was also a Billboard Magazine Club reporter for five (5) years

In 1993, FM 98 WJLB in Detroit hired John as a mix show DJ. He was subsequently given the name of JamminÕ John Collins by the late legendary Detroit radio personality Chris McClendon. Five years later was given a mix show on WDRQ FM 93.1. In 2002, John performed at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival and Fuse In - Detroit's Electronic Movement Festival in 2005

His musical talent and superb mixing abilities have been showcased around the country in cities including Chicago, New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Tortola British Virgin Islands, London, England and Paris, France.

John's experience in the music industry has been quite rewarding as he also now heads Premier Entertainment representing international artists including Juan Atkins, James Pennington, Underground Resistance, Eddie Fowlkes. Galaxy 2 Galaxy, AUX88, Electrofunk Live feat Mr. De and many more artists. John is currently in the studio working on his first release.
