City By City Book Launch & Reading says
Join DittoDitto & Silva Rerum for the Detroit launch of City by City: Dispatches from the American Metropolis. N+1’s City by City is a collection of essays -- historical, personal, and somewhere in between -- about the present and future of American cities.

We’re pleased to welcome contributor Simone Landon, home from New York to read from her essay “Saving Detroit.” Simone, born and raised in Detroit, is a features editor for FiveThirtyEight and former senior editor at The Huffington Post.

Simone will be joined by two other Detroit writers, Aaron Foley and jessica Care moore, to read from recent work and have a freewheeling discussion about the Motor City and the problem with its saviors.

Aaron Foley is a freelance journalist and ad copywriter whose essay was included in The Detroit Anthology from BELT Publishing. His first book, How to Live in Detroit Without Being a Jackass, will be released this fall. Poet and performing artist jessica Care moore has written several poetry collections, including The Words Don’t Fit in My Mouth, The Alphabet Verses The Ghetto, God is Not an American, and Sunlight Through Bullet Holes, and a memoir, Love is Not The Enemy.

This event is free and open to the public.
