Detroit Institute of Arts says
The DIA is hosting a free information session on the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) mini-grant program for nonprofit organizations, schools, municipalities and art professionals on Thursday, Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Representatives from the Oakland, Macomb County, and Wayne County re-granting agencies will present information on guidelines and the application process.

The mini-grant program—a partnership between the MCACA and 15 regional re-granting agencies throughout the state—aims to address local arts and cultural needs as well as increase public access to arts and culture. Grants are offered in two categories: arts projects and professional development. Arts project grants provide up to $4,000 for locally developed, high quality arts and cultural projects. Professional development grants provide up to $1,500 to assist nonprofit organizations and arts professionals in strengthening the groups’ administrative infrastructures.

Though the workshops are free to attend, registration is required. Visit tickets.dia.org or call (313) 833-4005 to register.
