Just in time for Earth Day, kids will find out what's good in their hood! This workshop will give hands-on instruction in using water and soil testing kits, empowering participants to play an active role in protecting their environment while learning important S.T.E.M. concepts.

About Workshop Coordinator Donele Wilkins
Leader, visionary, and results-oriented, Donele Wilkins has demonstrated servant leadership on the front lines of the environmental justice movement in her hometown Detroit for nearly 20 years. Wilkins' achievements include participation in the development and adoption of an Environmental Justice Policy in the state of Michigan, and conceiving and launching the first Green Jobs Training Program in Detroit. She’s been an advocate for citizen involvement in crafting environmental policy, placing environmental stewardship on the agenda of community leaders and decision makers. As the founder of The Green Door Initiative, Donele plans to take not only the city of Detroit but also the nation to the next level of environmental stewardship.
