The Liberation Film Series continues with a screening of "Wilmington on Fire." Learn about the 1898 Wilmington Massacre, a bloody attack on an African-American community by a heavily armed white mob with the support of the North Carolina Democratic Party that was a starting point of the white supremacy movement. Featuring speakers Christopher Everett, Filmmaker and Dr. Geoff Ward, Associate Professor, Criminology, Law & Society, University of California, Irvine.
The Year of Rebellion programming is presented in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Detroit Rebellion.
