Time Out says

In her new solo exhibit, The More We Get Together, Megan Heeres offers a unique experience for the audience, engaging you in the production of the installation during the exhibition. You will have the opportunity to learn how to make handmade paper with the artist and make your own mark within the gallery. Gathering non-native and invasive plant matter from Detroit, Heeres has developed a fascinating palette of pulp that will grow throughout the space at Re:View Gallery. A one-of-a-kind book will house all the names and experiences of the participants involved in the installation. Heeres regards you as her collaborators. The More We Get Together opens to the public on Saturday, March 21, with a reception from 6 pm to 9 pm. The exhibit will extend through both gallery spaces. In Gallery 2 space, Megan Heeres will be including works by guest collaborators Corrie Baldauf, Laura Beyer, Katie Caron, Tim Eads, Susan Goethel Campbell, Gerhardt Knodel, and Quynh Vantu. Attire: Casual, galoshes are encouraged (some will be provided). ---------------------------- ABOUT MEGAN HEERES A native Michigander, Megan Heeres returned home from the West Coast in 2007 to study at Cranbrook Academy of Art, fell in love with Detroit, and settled there. Megan has maintained an active studio art practice in the city and recently converted her garage into a papermaking studio. She is a represented artist at Re:View Contemporary and is preparing for her second solo exhibition in March 2015. Megan participates in projects locally and nationally, most recently at PARMER in New York City, and at Dlectricity 2014 for her most ambitious installation to date. She is actively involved in the greater arts community in Detroit, serving on the New Wave Board at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, as a visiting critic to area universities, and works as an art consultant for the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy. Megan continually presents her work in numerous forms as a panelist and speaker at conferences, symposiums, and workshops.
