As happens every year, giants are coming out onto the streets of Girona. We're talking about 'gegants', which are large figures created to represent historical Catalan characters such as kings and queens, artisans and fantastical creatures; they take part in parades at festivals across the region, dancing their way through the watching crowds. For the Girona festa major, the giants will gather at 10am with the parade starting at 11.30am, beginning at the Parc del Migdia and moving to the streets of Oriol Martorell, Migdia and Ultònia before finishing at Plaça de Francesc Calvet i Rubalcaba.
